About NEET UG 2027
NEET UG is India's single national entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BHMS, and other medical/paramedical courses in both government and private colleges. It is conducted once a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
NEET is the only pathway to medical education in India — there is no alternative entrance for MBBS admission. Every year, over 20 lakh students appear for approximately 1 lakh MBBS seats, making it one of the most competitive exams in India.
For Bihar students, NEET is particularly important as it opens doors to both AIIMS Patna and all private medical colleges in Bihar. The Bihar Student Credit Card scheme can help fund medical education fees up to 4 lakh.
The exam is pen-and-paper based (OMR) with 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The exam duration is 3 hours 20 minutes with negative marking for wrong answers.
