About JEE Advanced 2027
JEE Advanced is the second stage of the Joint Entrance Examination, conducted by one of the IITs in rotation each year. It is the sole gateway for admission to the undergraduate programs at all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. The exam is known for its high difficulty level and tests deep conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization.
The exam consists of two papers, both compulsory, each of 3 hours duration. The exam tests Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with multiple types of questions including MCQs, numerical answer types, and matching-type questions.
