About GATE 2027
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national-level entrance exam for admission to postgraduate engineering programs (M.Tech/MS) at IITs, NITs, and IISc Bangalore. It is also used by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for recruitment of engineering graduates.
The exam tests comprehensive understanding of undergraduate engineering subjects. GATE scores are valid for 3 years and are accepted by multiple PSUs including IOCL, ONGC, BHEL, NTPC, and GAIL for direct recruitment.
For students from Bihar aspiring for higher education or PSU jobs, GATE is the most important postgraduate engineering exam. Many Career Villa partner colleges also accept GATE scores for M.Tech admissions.
